Sue won the award for best female vocals at the 2003 1233 ABC Newcastle Music Awards and was also one of five finalists in the best folk song category. At the same awards this year, she was nominated for best song in the soft rock category.

She is best known around Newcastle for her band work having fronted several quality outfits such as National Bush Band Champions Sligo Maid (Tamworth Festival ‘95 and ’96) and highly acclaimed pop trio Love That Hat.

Currently she plays with partner Michael Stove in a duo that showcases her versatility as a singer and musician with covers from Kate Bush’s “Wuthering Heights” to Jewel’s “You were meant for me” plus originals that are a catchy blend of pop, rock and country.

Sue is also an award winning multi-instrumentalist. Classically trained in violin, Sue has also gained a wealth of experience in country and folk fiddle styles and is a competent rhythm guitarist and mandolin player.

In the classical and music theatre genres, Sue has played a diversity of roles such as Mozart’s Queen of the Night, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carrie in Carousel, Mrs Lovett in Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd, Susanna in Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro and Beatrice in The Venetian Twins by Enright and Clarke.
